Altho I only saw Steve in the hallways at CHS. I got to know him a bit in the last few years.  He was kind and easy to get to know.  I will miss seeing him around town.   Rest in peace, Steve, you will be missed by both Dan and me.

  1. Have a lot of good memories with Steve in high school. Cruising Mack's in his Impala SS, double dating girlfriend's friends.  Believe he came back to Abilene to settle his late mother's affairs after 35 years in construction in Las Vegas (only child). I saw him at United grocery, regret that we never had occasion to visit and reminisce all of our experiences. RIP old friend

Cars, girls, music, laughing, fun - those are the things that I remember about Steve Arthur.  He had to have been the first and youngest person in Abilene to have a new (64 or 65?) Mustang convertible.  Riding in that car made all of us feel like we were on top of the world.  Steve went to North Texas U trying to be a "hippie", but it was impossible for him since he was obsessed with having his hair perfectly styled and his clothes always in pristine condition.  He was kind, thoughtful, - and had visions of being a successful businessman.  Those were innocent, formative years when good friends were so important.  God Bless.
