So sad to hear of Ric's passing. What a politician.....he was so much like his father and was living in Weatherford, Texas at the time of his death.....He will be missed.

Ric was a great friend of mine although we hadn't seen each other much for several years.  Ric and I went to the State Fair when we were seniors and met up with Ken Hughes in Dallas.  You can make up your own story about that trip and I am sure some of it would be true.  When I was at Lincoln Jr. High and Ric was at Jefferson, he made a half-court shot at the buzzer that tied the game.  Of course we were so shocked we ended up losing the game.  I can still see that big smile after the shot.

Ric and I were in the same Boy Scout troop, Troop #72 and we met at ALdersgate United Methodist Church.  I remember him being a very frindly sort and was always smiling.  I remember

the half court shot he made to help Jefferson beat Lincoln.  That was hard to take, but we got over it.  Ric, you will be missed.

Peace,

Tony Morrow

Well, he got a highway named after him in Weatherford.  That's more than I'd ever expected.  My hat's off to you Ric.  Most of us won't deserve such an honor.  Life is short and he made the most of it I guess.
