This news shocked me. Norma was a close friend in Jr High, at CHS, and for years as an adult. One of the smartest people I ever knew. I had no idea she was ill. RIP sweet lady.

I am saddened to hear about Norma Thompson's death. Norma and I have had a special bond since our births. We were born on the same day ( December 1, 1951 ) in Hendrick's Hospital in Abilene. We were delivered by the same doctor - Dr. Arrant ( Cathy Arrant's father ) shortly after the other was born. I can't recall now who was born first.

She was one of  our smartest CHS students. She was so smart that she graduated one year early in 1969. She had such a great intellect. I have periodically kept up with Norma throughout the years - especially in her duties with the Class of 1970 Reunion Committee. Also, my wife and I employed Norma when she worked at Elmwood Funeral Home.

My condolences to her family.

Eddie Elmore
