A few days after graduation starting that Summer of '70, Hank and I headed off to the University of Texas for our first semester.  We shared a room at the new Jester dorm.  That fall we moved into separate frat houses and over time lost touch.  I have good memories of Henry Subotnik.  May he rest in peace.

Hank was a super good guy.  We had a lot of fun hanging out together.  As I recall, he moved to Abilene from Houston and I don't think he ever quite got adjusted.  Which is probably why he ended up back in Houston.  I really liked him and am saddened by his passing.

He and I moved his sister to Houston in an old truck.  We did ok until we were almost there, on 610 at about the Astrodome, when her bed flew out of the back of our truck!

He invited me over for passover one year, that was something new.

Hank was one of my best friends.  Coming out of Lincoln JrH, RIchard Chalmers, Richard Thomson, I, Larry Cooke, and a few others were regular board gamers. Once in Cooper, we found Hank or vise versa, and the games gave way to music and Hank was one to have a new LP every week.  That is as I recall, it could be completey different, but I still remember him fondly.  I regret I did not keep up with him when I was in Houston, same years as Toby Williams, David Carver, more.
