I knew Steve in choir. He was one of those quiet types that made a contribution without having to be in the spotlight. So sorry to hear of his passing.
Like Gerry, I'll remember Steve fondly from Boy Scouts and school but mostly as a dear friend and brother in Christ at First Baptist Abilene, especially during our "Citizen" days singing all around the region. Blessings and prayers for his lovely family.
Steve and I have been friends since we were 7 years old...I remember many birthdays at his house with his mom in charge...he gave me my first Border Collie who was a "one of a kind" dog who got me through University...Steve has always been in my life and like all of us we slowly did not see each other as much becuase life gets busy...I still hold in my heart the picture of Steve with his long hair and fumanchu mustache and his one of a kind laugh...he will always bring a smile to my face...he will be missed but certainly not forgotten...and besides I know where he is at and we will all be seeing him sooner or later... so he is good!
I sang in choir with Steve and fondly remember him being a gentle soul! He was such a kind spirit. My thoughts go out to his family. He will be missed.
Remembering Steve for his friendship through junior high and high school and msny Scouti g events and campouts. And his laugh! Condolences to his family.
Steve and I were in Vo-Ag class together. We were on a farm skills team, went to the state finals, placed 2nd. Lost to some guys that won by shearing sheep. We all hated that.
Good memories of Steve. Gentle, easy going with a great sense of humor is how I remember him.
Steve was the first person I remember as a child as we grew up across the street from each other. Our days together will be remembered as an endless summer. You were my first friend, Steve. I'll never forget you.
